OPEN SOURCE TESTING

pictureofpaul

  Hello,

Today I am testing open source applications such as OpenOffice and LibreOffice. I have set it up from within these software applications. I want to see what this blog looks like after importing it to Word Press. So, what do you think?

I know this is a short blog but remember, I am just testing things out and experimenting.

On a side note: I downloaded FreeWriter at the following website for free. Once you install it select buy and enter your email address. And wallah, that’s it. The Pro version unlocks and you get the full benefits of the software. Do ahead and try it. It’s free!

I have purchased Scrivener and Writers Cafe. I will be testing them soon.

Here is the FreeWriter website:  http://www.freewritersoftware.com/support/index.php

Well, come to find out after much research and testing there used to be a weblog add-on for Open Writer but it no longer works. I opened this document up with AbiWord. And I had to use an older version of AbiWord because the home server for Windows version AbiWord 3.2 is down. So, don’t know what’s up with that.

If you want to use open-source software for blogging it’s probably best to use OpenLiveWriter which can be found at:  http://openlivewriter.org  or just type it up in AbiWord which is what I am using to post this blog. Needless to say, I was unable to use OpenOffice or LibreOffice to blog with.  You can still type your draft blog in them though.

AbiWord didn’t work either so now I am going to use:  OpenLiveWriter

Hope you have a great day!

  Best Regards
